I was born and raised in the Pacific Northwest and was introduced to photography as a child. At age 10, I received my first camera, a Polaroid point and shoot which I used during family outings and trips. My Grandfather taught me a lot about taking photos, composition, lighting, etc. and I have fond memories of our various photo shoots together.
I'm mostly self taught and a vast majority of my images come from experiences, experimentation, feelings, and things I have learned over the years. I draw inspiration from the things around me. I utilize the natural light and rarely use flash photography. I enjoy macro, landscape, black and white, color, cyan, and sepia photography. I think they all have interesting and unique characteristics. I also enjoy taking an image and reworking it with photo editing programs as the possibilities are endless. With each modification, a new interpretation is born.
I have been published in The Salal Review, a publication of Lower Columbia Community College in Longview, WA. I have also been published in several calendars for the local Columbia River People's Utility District in Oregon.
